I had once attended a dance recital of Mallika Sarabhai in Kochi. The programme was company sponsored. I forget the company’s name. Halfway through the programme, the hosts started serving dinner at the back of the hall. MS abruptly stopped her dance recital and said her dance is for those who appreciate her art and not for those who come only to have a good time. The company officials rushed to the stage, but to no avail. She walked off the stage . Your mention of her short temper reminded me of this incident. I was very disappointed as it is not often one can watch Darpana ( her dance academy) performances in kochi
